South Essex Cross-Country League

Barking Road Runners competes each winter in the South Essex Cross-Country League. The club is proud to have won the Division 2 title in the 2013/14 season.

There are five races in each year's competition, which are open only to members of the participating clubs. Each race is held on a Sunday morning, and generally takes place over a distance of between 4 and 5 miles in a country park in southern Essex. The participating clubs are grouped into two divisions, with separate trophies for each.

Points are also awarded by the club to its first-claim members, based on relative position, with separate points for men and women. For example, the fastest male BRR first-claim member to finish in a race is awarded 100 points, the second fastest is awarded 99 points, and so on. At the end of the series, each member's four best results are totalled; prizes are awarded by the club to the member with the two highest scores, with separate prizes for men and women.

Results for club members at each cross-country race are published on our website.
